El servicio VCO permite a las personas con problemas de audición hablar directamente con una persona oyente. Cuando el oyente le habla a usted, un Asistente de Comunicaciones hará las veces de sus "oídos" y escribirá todo lo que le digan en un TTY o en una pantalla de texto.

1. Marque el número directo de VCO, 1-866-280-2656.

2. Le contestará el Servicio de Relevo de Puerto Rico con "9234" (para identificar el AC), "F" o "M" (sexo del AC) y "VCO OR TYPE NOW GA" (“VOZ O ESCRIBA GA AHORA”) ("GA" significa "adelante").

3. Diga o escriba el código de área y el número de teléfono de la persona que desea llamar.

4. El Asistente de Comunicaciones escribirá el mensaje "VOICE NOW" (“VOZ AHORA”)para avisarle que empiece a hablar. Usted habla directamente al oyente. El Asistente de Comunicaciones no repetirá lo que usted dice, sólo escribirá lo que el oyente dice. Ambos tienen que decir "GA" al final de su respuesta.

VCO confidencial
Es similar al VCO estándar. Sin embargo, el Asistente de Comunicaciones no escuchará a la persona que llama a través del Servicio de Relevo de Puerto Rico, sólo escribe las respuestas de voz para el usuario de VCO.

VCO con dos líneas
El VCO con dos líneas permite al consumidor con dos líneas usar una línea para hablar directamente con un oyente al mismo tiempo que usa la otra línea para recibir las respuestas que escribe el oyente en el teclado. Este sistema permite un flujo de conversación más natural sin las pausas de las llamadas en una sola línea.

De VCO a TTY
El Asistente de Comunicaciones sólo escribirá en el teclado lo que usted diga al usuario de TTY a quien usted llama. Todo lo que el usuario de TTY escriba en el teclado irá directamente a su TTY o equipo de desplegar texto para que usted lo lea. El uso de "GA" es necesario para este tipo de llamada.

De VCO a VCO
El Asistente de Comunicaciones hará las veces de "oídos" para las dos partes y escribirá, no sólo lo que usted le diga a su interlocutor, sino lo que le dicen a usted. El uso de "GA" es necesario para este tipo de llamada.

Voice carryover (VCO) allows hard-of-hearing users to speak directly to a hearing person. When the hearing person speaks to you, a CA will serve as your "ears" and type everything said to you on a TTY or text display.

1. Dial the VCO direct number, 1-866-280-2656.

2. Puerto Rico Relay will answer with "9234" (for CA identification), "F" or "M" (for CA gender) and "VCO OR TYPE NOW GA."

3. Voice or type the area code and telephone number of the party you want to call.

4. The CA will type the message "VOICE NOW" to you as your cue to start speaking. You speak directly to the hearing person. The CA will not repeat what you say, but only type to you what the hearing person says. You both need to say "GA" at the end of your response.

VCO with privacy
This is similar to the standard VCO feature. However, the CA will not hear the caller speaking through Puerto Rico Relay, and only type voiced responses back to the VCO user.

Two-line VCO
Two-line VCO allows a consumer with two telephone lines to use one line for speaking directly to a hearing person while the other line is used to receive the hearing person's typed responses at the same time. This feature provides a more natural flow of conversation without the pauses of single-line calls.

VCO to TTY
The CA will only type what you say to the TTY user you are calling. Whatever the TTY user types will go directly to your TTY or text display equipment for you to read. "GA" is needed for this type of call.

VCO to VCO
The CA will serve as both parties' "ears" and type not only what you say to your party but also what is said to you. "GA" is needed for this type of call.
